WE’RE NEARLY SOLD OUT - only 3 homes remain!

Fair Oaks EcoHousing is a multi-generational group of households planning to build an earth-friendly cohousing community of 30 homes near Sacramento. We’re actively looking for others who share our vision to join us. We started construction in December 2017. Move-in is expected in Summer 2019!

Imagine Yourself Living Here:
- A pedestrian-friendly village: a supportive environment where neighbors know and care about each other, with values of respect, cooperative and fun
- An environmentally-friendly neighborhood: energy efficient homes, organic gardens, lots of open space and a large, centrally-located Common House
- Many home options available: the 3.7 acre site will consist of 30 townhomes and flats with two to four bedrooms
- Ideal location: Less than one mile from the American River Parkway, Fair Oaks Village, Bannister Park, Sacramento Waldorf School and Rudolf Steiner College

What is Fair Oaks like?
Fair Oaks is located in Sacramento County, with a population just under 31,000. To the south is the beautiful American River, bordered by the American River Parkway, a beautiful 32 mile bicycle trail (see picture). Fair Oaks, located only 18 miles east of downtown Sacramento, has easy access to the Sierra Foothills, with ample opportunities for hiking, skiing, rafting and kayaking.

Fair Oaks has a small town feel and a lively arts scene. Located in Old Fair Oaks Village, the town center houses the Plaza Park Amphitheater, where residents look forward to the annual Fair Oaks Theatre Festival and many other events. Winters are mild here.

Why EcoHousing?
Fair Oaks EcoHousing’s vision of sustainability guides our construction goals. Being a “green community” means striving for the lowest possible energy bills, focusing on natural light, using non-toxic materials and sustainable flooring, being solar-ready and much more. We're pleased to be working with Charles Durrett of McCamant & Durrett Architects and Kathryn McCamant of CoHousing Solutions, both leaders in environmental sustainability.
